Lisa Oestreicher, Architectural Paint
Consultant. To be held at the Tempest Anderson Hall, Museum
Gardens at 7.30pm
A vital and often contentious aspect of historic buildings
is colour: what were the paint colours originally, have they
changed, and when? Lisa is dedicated to understanding and
analysing historic paint, and is one of very few specialists
who can tease out from historic buildings minute chips of
paint which she then analyses microscopically to reveal
their true colours, in their historic sequence. Her work has
informed the re-decoration of many historic buildings,
including The Red House, the Palace of Westminster, and
locally, the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond.
